The documentation of SAF-T formats consist of:

SAF-T Financial:
SAF-T Financial has been revised and updated. The new form (version name 1.30) is required from 1 January 2025, but can be used already now if preferable. The new form does not offer full back compatibility because of the scope of the changes made. The old form (version 1.20) can still be used for previous years (financial year 2024 and before).

Background
A project group was established in 2012 to review the consequences of implementing SAF-T in Norway. The project report was submitted to The Finance Ministry in June 2014 and describes the results of implementing the standard for submitting financial data to The Tax Administration.
